Highly Effective Dribble Drills For Basketball!
Dribbling drills are a great way to improve your ball handling skills effectively.
There are a few drills that are great for ball handling development.
A very efficient ball handling drill is the one handed crossover drill. Basically in this drill you would dribble the basketball with one hand and do crossovers from left to right with that same hand. This drill is to help you dribble the basketball much faster and with more authenticity.
When dribbling the ball it is important to focus on the development of each hand differently.
At first you will notice one hand is usually much stronger at dribbling the basketball than the other. What you want to do is develop your weaker hand to the point where it is as strong as your stronger hand.
One-handed drills such as the one-handed crossover drills is great for singling out each hand and improving individual ball handling ability.
Sklz mini basketball hoop that is a little more advanced is the two ball crossover drill. This drill is definitely beneficial to you and once mastered can really improve your ball handling ability. You would do this drill by bending your knees slightly and performing a crossover dribble with both basketballs in each hand at the same time. You would then repeat this until you can do it at a faster pace.
The two ball crossover drill is a very effective drill because of the level of difficulty. When doing this drill for the first time it may seem impossible but it is not impossible and actually becomes easy after you've done it a couple times.
The whole point of doing two ball drills is to help develop muscle memory that will help you dribble the basketball at ease. All of the great basketball players can pretty much dribble in their sleep and that is because they've performed and mastered many different dribbling drills for basketball.
Did you know it is actually possible to train with three balls?
Yes it is. I know of one drill that you can master that consists of dribbling three basketballs. This is called the juggling drill. You're basically juggling the basketball while dribbling. Think of the sequence you throw juggling balls in the air; well you can apply this sequence to dribbling.
The whole point of the juggling drill is to get your brain working and used to dribbling the basketball. It is not necessary to do this drill which is why I don't go into detail on how to do it but if you understand how to juggle three balls then you should be able to apply it to dribbling if you'd like.
Take your basketball skills to the next level by doing dribble drills whenever you can. Do them at the basketball court, on the sidewalk, in your garage, your driveway wherever you can.
The more you dribble the basketball the better you'll get.
However there is a better approach that consists of having a weekly schedule of dribbling drills.
